We are big fans of the young grunge punk trio, Loki’s Folly. And we’re big fans of Minneapolis. Subsequently, we love the new video for Trickster that showcases both! You can catch them live at Eagles #34 on June 24.
The band says Trickster is based on characters from their favorite childhood stories (Anansi, Monkey King, Joker, and, of course, Loki). Much of the video is shot near the Stone Arch bridge, which has a mystical feel about it and the old bricks and dilapidation remind me of fairy tales like Hansel and Gretel. It’s creepy (shot out to snake montage!) and nostalgic. The music is mesmerizing – like a childhood chant on steroids, looping to lull you into a trance.
