Mostly MN Music with Laamar: theme sun and moon

Amazing to have Laamar in the studio today. Members include Geoffrey Lamar Wilson, James Taylor and Steve Bosman. Laamar released a new EP last month, Flowers. Geoffrey writes all the songs.   The music is dreamy and melodic, the lyrics walk directly very weighty material especially racism. Geoffrey writes all of the songs.  Music with a mission; they are gentle conversation starters that refer to current (and not so current) events impacting the lives of people of color. Geoffrey’s storytelling can put the listener in the driver’s seat being stopped by a police offer in a way that touching and spurs larger thinking.

You can see them August 4 at the Turf Club or August 11 at the Green Room.

Thanks to technical difficulties we don’t have the audio recording of the show. (Maybe yet…) But we do have a video of the in studio visit and performance.

The theme was the sun and the moon. Thanks to folks for their requests and recommendations. You can listen to the aspirational playlist on Spotify. Or check out what we actually played below.
