Mostly MN Music with Unstable Shapes releasing new album Delicate Machinery at Zhora Darling on April 11

Fantastic to have James Tayor, Ryan Jaroscak and Mitch Gustafson from Unstable Shapes in studio to talk about their new album Delicate Machinery and the upcoming release show at Zhora Darling on April 11. Fun to hear about how they formed a band and learned to work together despite varying levels of experience. Sounds like the connection was immediate but due to the pandemic, the start and stop of the music was stop and go until the world and their lives opened up a bit. The music is driving and anxious and I think it’s a perfect soundtrack to the time we’re in.

Big thanks to Jenny for cohosting with me; Be sure to check out her Bookstagram for great reading recommendations!

Big thanks to folks who sent us requests and recommendations for MN songs about shapes; it was a crazy hard theme this week so double thanks! Check out the songs we played below or our aspirational playlist on Spotify. And one final word of recognition for my friend Paul Engebreston (Front Row Paul) who passed away from pancreatic cancer. I’m still reeling. I’ll still be looking for him in front row of the show – what I’m likely to see is other people missing Paul.
