Mostly MN Music Radio Hours with Sam Cassidy and Mayda

We were spoiled again today with two amazing musicians playing for us live in the studio. First we had Sam Cassidy. His new album (Running Blind ) comes out March 21 at the Turf Club. He has been teasing out the album with single releases and awesome videos that give a peek at the story of the concept album. The videos have been very intriguing. I can’t wait for his show!

Then Mayda joins us to give play a few songs off MRDR PXP. Mayda is a petite woman with a powerful voice. I love her song Justice and it was great to talk to her about the role of youth in bringing our country to a better place and about her unusual journey to her country of origin, South Korea. It sounds like a hard journey. Mayda will be playing with PaviElle at the Icehouse on March 22.  She is also rehearsing for Hedwig and the Angry Inch at Theater Latte Da.

The artists are very different but both seemed to have a visual component to their songs writing. It seems like their songs might evolve like movies!

We played Irish themed music for the day that was in it. You can listen to the playlist on Spotify or check out the playlist below – and has always the playlist is more aspirational than actual.
