I’m mentioning this vide for a few reasons. First Dave Simonett is playing a New Year’s Even stream at the Hook and Ladder and this gives me an excuse to mention it. It’s a feel good show as 100% of proceeds benefit the night’s performing artists, The Firehouse Performing Arts Center, Du Nord Foundation and NIVA #SaveOurStages. Also it’s a sound good show with an awesome lineup of: Your Smith (DJ Set), The Mall (feat. members of Solid Gold, Doomtree, and Fort Wilson Riot), Lady Lark, Dave Simonett (of Trampled By Turtles), & Drag Queen Lip Sync Battle (feat. BARB, Crystal Belle, and Kamaree Williams) with emcee John Gebratatose.
Also it’s an excuse to mention the sad passing of John Prine. A voice that will be sorely missed in 2021 and beyond.
