The Minnesota Music Coalition (MMC) serves the music industry through mentorships, educational workshops, legal and business advice, networking opportunities, Caravan Du Nord and more. They help with business end of the industry so artists can focus on the music. MMC is an asset to the musicians and music lovers like us – especially in the last two years when business of music has been challenging.
MMC is hosting a fundraiser, MIXTAPE, Saturday February 19 at The Icehouse to support their good work. It’s going to be a fun night of music from lots of genres, a silent auction, fabulous food and drink and other awesome surprises. The event will be livestreamed for folks at home! (So if you’re cautious or live away from the Cities you might have a MIXTAPE party at home with friends.)
The Main Event (6pm-9:30pm) with include performances from Gully Boys, Lady Midnight, ELSKA, Katia Cardenas and Nyttu Chongo. The Late Night Party (9:30pm-12:30am) features Muun Bato and Fires of Denmark. Larry Wish will play music between the two events. There will be music video performances throughout the evening by Lanue, War Bonnet and Mark Mallman.
Musicians have had a rough couple of years with pandemic restrictions. Whether you attend in person or from home, it’s an easy way to lift up and support the local musicians we love.
