Mostly MN Music with Dark Bunny and theme money

Funny to spend the first sunny Saturday in weeks in the WMCN studio with Dark Bunny singing about being “stuck in Overcast”. It was perfect!

We were delighted to have Emily Youel, founder of Dark Bunny come in to chat about her debut album and play a few songs. The album was conceived during the pandemic, beginning as a bedroom dream pop project but it grew to include three new members – Christian Wheeler (lead guitar), Emma Withers (drums) and Karl Schutzle (bass). The music embraces nature in soundscape and lyrics. There are also relationship-based theme of falling in love, unrequited love and love of friends. It also feels very Minnesotan. You’ll love it and you can see them at the Midwest Music Fest at the end of the month.

We had a theme of money, in honor of April being a tax month and we thank folks for so many requests! You can listen to the music on the Spotify playlist (which is often more aspirational than the actual) and see the folks we played below (not necessarily in order):
