New MN Music: I am Human by Jaspar Lepak releasing tomorrow

I am Human by Jaspar Lepak will be releasing on all platforms tomorrow (October 7). You can also catch her at a few important shows this weekend. Oct 7, she’s playing an all ages show at  Gigi’sCafe to benefit Our Justice. Oct 9, she is the musical guest on Island of Discarded Women Podcast’s live taping at The Woman’s Club of Mpls. (We’ll be there with our Women’s March MN hats on!)

We spoke to Jaspar last summer when I remember her saying she uses her voice to encourage others to think, feel and use their voice. I Am Human is a perfect example. It’s a beautiful song with a message on the increasingly precarious position of women. With reproductive right being swept away, women are one incident away from losing their rights. Turns out women’s rights are human rights because we are human. The video is straightforward and powerful. The music is folk, like the political and heart wrenching folk songs of my youth.
