What a delight to have Fiona Hayes in studio. We have been trying to get her in studio since we saw her perform to Red Wing Big Turn last February. Fiona started with music when she was 5, which means she’s a veteran of 10 years. She’s done a lot in those years and she’s harboring a lot of talent.
It was fun to hear about how she creates music through observations of those around her, which is a genius way to sing about subjects you haven’t experienced before by drawing on emotions you have felt.
You can hear her new single July 23 and hear her play in at the Amsterdam July 24. Or you can wait until you hear one of her songs in an upcoming movie. (Listen to the interview for the scoop!)
Our theme this week was hair, in honor of National Hair Creator Day. You can check out the songs we played below or our aspirational playlist on Spotify. Also nice to have Langen Goldstien (Girl at the Rock Shows) back in studio!
