Spring has spring and we had two awesome guests to share it with us. First Alina Maria, a lovely singer originally from Philadelphia now based in Minneapolis. She left Philadelphia on the cusp of a relationship that ended and to stay with family. Her music is heart wrenching. Her voice is lovely. She has a CD release on March 16 at Seventh Street Entry, which should be a great show. I was delighted to hear her newest song about silver linings because it’s hard to miss love.
Second guest was Mikkel Beckmen, my favorite washboard player in the world and one of the strongest community builders I know. Mikkel and Mike Munson are re-leasing their Live at Ed’s CD at the Cedar on April 15. This is, as the name implies a live recording of the first time they played together.
Mikkel spoke about some of the music residencies he’s working on right now:

- Dubliner – Thursday 5-7
- 331 Club – Sundays
