Briefcase releases their lyric video for Case for Darkness today!
The video is simple but clever take on a lyric video. The song has a compelling build throughout with cozy picture of a Minnesota winter.
The video for Case for Darkness is a sneak preview of sort for their upcoming 3rd EP, IIIP. (Available soon online!) The EP is named for its 3 members, 3 records, and 3 songs is conceptual in its predetermination that each member would write and contribute a tune. Boiled, kneaded and massaged throughout 2021, the songs address the recent peaks and pain of our civil and social challenges through the lens of each creator. A hybrid of indie-pop, post-punk, and psych rock stuffed into three distinct new tunes.
We got a chance to talk to them in 2020 about their music, videos and making music in a strange time and I feel like we got a glimpse of what the EP is like. Even better, we can all get a chance to hear the music live at the end of the week when Briefcase plays The White Squirrel Bar on Fri, January 21 with support from Goodbye Mordecai and Alley Mattress to celebrate the release of IIIP.
