Present Company always have fun videos and the latest for Forever does not disappoint.
It has a retro futuristic feel in costume and video production. The sound has the same feel, poppy, electronic with a harkening back to 1970s or 1980s but with a modern twist.
This is a deep cut but the video reminds me of The Hudson Brothers Razzle Dazzle show from the early 1970s – decades before this band was alive but they capture the same fun.
But behind the fun are lyrics that are heartbreaking – about being afraid of losing everything, about having to choose about not knowing you could change your mind. And then quickly in a flash is the sense of forever when a new character (maybe a blast from the future for one of the band members?) enters the action like a dream (or sleeping) sequence.
