Today we were joined by Ben Hovorka, Anthony Gore and Jimmy Osterholt from Savage Moods. The coolest thing was getting their CD – Dark Matters, which includes a mini-custom Tarot card deck. Ben designed them. The first 500 people who get the CD, get the cards. (Their CD release is July 20 at the Icehouse with 26 Bats and Elle PF. Also, it’s Jimmy’s birthday!)
Also their music is great. It’s a little dark metal, a little heavy metal, kinda bluesy at times. They work collaboratively together and it was clear to see that the collaboration is very even. They seemed to really enjoy each other and bring out the best in each other.
Also – we played a lot of songs about Red, White and Blue. Next week’s theme is bands playing next weekend.
