Free lunchtime music Thursdays in Minneapolis: MNSpin Live Music

I’m trying to share free places to see music this summer – because after the year we’ve had, we all should celebrate with some free live music! Thursday afternoon MNSpin Live Music, live music featuring artists curated by the MNSpin program at the Hennepin County Library. Libraries and music – is there a better pairing?

  • When: Thursdays from noon to 1pm, starting June 3 and running through Aug 31
  • Where Peavey Plaza (downtown Minneapolis)

I caught Mary Bue there. She looked the part, she sounded great. I think they picked a perfect person to start because she’s so chill and they needed to iron out a few of the technical kinks – like when the power wet out. That being said, it was so nice to be out and when it was working Mary sounded great.

It’s a downtown setting, which is a little weird post pandemic. But the parking is super easy. It’s definitely worth a look if you’re near downtown and probably a good excuse to get downtown during the day if you need one.

Performance Schedule:

  • Jun 3: Mary Bue
  • Jun 10: Dred I Dred
  • Jun 24: Niles
  • Jul 1: Tufawon
  • Jul 8: Paul Barry Blues Band
  • Jul 15: Annie and the bang bang
  • Jul 22: Twins of Franklin
  • Jul 29: Chris Koza
  • Aug 12: Curtis and Loretta
  • Aug 19: MaLLy
  • Aug 29: Craig Pacquette
