Again back in the studio at WMCN 91.7fm today for a great show. The theme was colors; thanks to those who sent us requests! And we had a special guest, Tyler McAninch. Tyler recently released his debut album, The Glue that Held Us Together. It is a beautiful folk album about loss and resilience. Tyler started it many years ago when, in her early 20s, he lost his mother to a long bout of cancer and his brother soon after to an overdose.
He came back to the music at the same time he was diagnosed with cancer himself. He is battling his second round of cancer now, but looking great and strong. He worked with Matt Patrick on the album; their last recoding was the day before surgery for Tyler. He said that as the world happened around him he was driven to complete the album as a legacy to his wife, to his father and to friends and family. The album is heavy and generous. We learned so much about Tyler and life during the chat.
