Rains Came by Capital Sons is the latest video of the EP, Tempest. We spoke to them last spring before the EP was released.
The EP is a collection of personal stories leading to a coming of age and the story behind Rains Came is inherently sad with lines such as, “You took off when the rains came and left me standing in the cold.” The video starts with a domestic dispute and a woman walking out the door. The action cuts between the band playing and the fall out experienced by the character played by Karl Obermeyer. Eventually this leads to Karl walking out of the rainy street and onto the rainy stage. It’s a nice visual of how real life stories seep into music and music is an outlet to overcome adversity.
