Righteous Noise is a new song by Julie Grossman released with a lyrics video released now in light of national news about Roe v. Wade.
Righteous Noise is pro-choice story in song, telling the story of a girl who is raped at 17 years of age by an older man, becomes pregnant, and is abandoned by the father. It is graphic and very real. It is a story of vulnerability and emphasizes the importance of bodily autonomy – at all times. We shouldn’t have tell our private stories (and I do not know that this is a personal account) but apparently there are people who need to hear them and I hope the right people hear this tale.
