Jarad Milles released his latest album, Standing Upon This Array on Saturday night at the 331 Club. It’s a moving album recorded during the pandemic. It remembers a tumultuous relationship but with the wisdom of hindsight. The music is easy and relaxing. The imagery of the lyrics is like a guided dream.
It’s a rare treat to get to hear a musician twice in a day, playing very different renditions of the same songs but the beauty of having a radio show is that sometimes I get to do that. Both shows were fabulous. The show in the studio was acoustic, it felt private and the lyrics shone through. The show at the 331 had the electronica feel, it was richer sonically and of course included an engaged and happy audience.
