Mostly MN Music with Emmy Woods and Guest Host Sammie Jean Cohen

Heather hosted the show and took notes this week…

Emmy’s music filled the studio perfectly. Her songwriting reminds me of Dolly Parton with the vocal sounds of Jewel. I know! That’s an excellent combination.

Her songs bring you on a guided tour from the small town county roads she grew up near to the internal challenges many of us carry in our anxious heads. She offers a vulnerability with equal parts strength and courage.

Emmy offers a relatable quality in her songwriting, where you can hear parts of your own history while listening. She is a thinker, a feeler, a connector gently pulling you in, allowing your heart and mind to open up. Just like Dolly, she offers humility and community in her songs.

Emmy has recently made her music available on streaming platforms. Please treat yourself by listening and letting her know what you love about it. Pretty sure you’re going to love it.

She will be playing at the Uptown VFW on 6/15 alongside Molly Brandt and Sammie Jean Cohen -this will be a great night of music.
